  • Age of Documents for Consular processing

    Good day All,
Question: When we submit a Certified Copy of our Beneficiary birht cert. at the interview at the U.S. Embassy, does the Certified copy of birth certificate have to be a certain age Say like under 6 months old?, or may it be a 1 or a 1 1/2 old. I have one from Aug. 2007 on my husband and want to have it translated, is it too old for embassy to except???

    Thank you,

    Usually ...

... it should be less than three months old. In some cases notarized copies up to six months old are acceptable.

It's best to have all documentation not older than one month.

    Good luck.
