k1 timeline
i will ike to share my experience on the k1 visa process.I received my k1 visa to the united states 0n friday 9th january 08.traveled to the states on friday 25th.got married on friday15th february 08.And this is where the probem starts.At the embassy in Spain i was told on reaching the states i will be issued a temporary greencard and continue from there.thinking that i have my greencard ready for me so excited.My wife and i thought we will be there after the marriage for them to send me my greencard.A week later i discovered one address in Washington dc.I woke up early and went to the office (uscis).I explain my situation to the officer in charge,he said wait im coming i was there watching him pulling out so many forms.I was so surprised and confused and asked the man that are you puling out this form for me?he turnaround and said yap.This is form i-485,i130 and 1765.And you gonna send it to NBC or whatever and paid 1010dollars.Its gonna take six to get work permit and 12months for the greencard and six month for the advance parole.wow.I took the form back home and explain to my wife.we gathered all the form and filed them.The first thing i did was register for a library,GED,GYM,and a free computer class just to while away time.THIS IS []MY TIMEFRAME:APPLY FOR ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS 29TH FEB 08.
2-RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION RECEIPT MARCH 21ST
3-BIOMETRICS TAKEN ON APRIL 9TH.
4-RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION THAT MY CASE FOR I-485 HAS BEEN TRANSFERED TO CALIFORNIA ON THE 11TH APRIL.
5-APPROVAL FOR TRAVEL DOCUMENT I130 NOTICE SENT.APRIL 29TH 08.
6-I1765 APPROVAL FOR EAD.CARD ORDERED.MAY 2.
7-MAY 7.I RECEIVED MY EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION CARD.WHAT A RELIEF.
8-MAY 11TH RECEIVED MY TRAVEL DOCUMENT.I130-nOW WAITING FOR MY GREENCARD.GET IN TOUCH AGAIN.GOODLUCK TO EVERYONE.[/COLOR]
