marrying on a K1 visa out side the USA

Hello Guys,
I heard different opinion on marrying your fiancée out side the USA if he/she has the K1 VISA.
Is the visa cancelled if you marry out side the US and do you have to apply for the Wife visa?
Or can you marry in the home country and travel together and marry again in the USA?

the K1 visa is for the Fiancee of an US Citizen to enter the USA... so if this fiancee gets married in other country, he/she no longer is a fiancee, but a spouse... so he/she can not use that visa to enter the USA.

He/she would have to apply for a K-3 visa or an IR1 visa. Either way, since so much time and money has been spent on this K1 visa, why waste it? and have to wait another 8-14 months for a K-3/IR1 visa?
