  • Fiance has opportunity to go to school, petition made last week...

My American fiance was laid off in December along with many other employees where he was working. He's been looking for work. Yesterday he went to apply for this job training program. It's awesome. Anyway without getting too much into detail, we both think it is a God sent opportunity for him as it allows him to get education in a professional line and they are paying for it as well as paying unemployment benefits.

He applied for the fiancee visa last week (I-129F). We talked about the affidavit of support and he said that he could get his relative to sign it for him. Will this decision of ours affect my chances of getting the K1 in anyway? Will it be an issue at the interview (Mumbai)? I have a Masters degree would they consider that as some sort of stability that I could get a job there to support myself?

Eagerly waiting for your suggestions. Thank you.

Thanks for that fatima. But I feel very hopeless right now. I don't think we can do it. My fiance's brother is willing to be a co sponsor, but my fiance told me that he's not sure that his brother paid taxes. So pretty much hopeless that anything else will work out. I told him he should think about living here and that he should prepare himself to live here.
