  • Help anyone!!! Time related!!!

I'm new to this...I have filed a petition for my fiance through the Vermont Service center. I recieved a letter May 7th stating that They recieved my petition on May 3rd. And I got a case #. I have checked the case and nothing more has been done. It is still in review. Is this a normal timeline??? I know it's a long process but unsure if I should try to contact them or if this is normal!!! If anyone knows please give me an idea...Thanks

It'll take quite a while, and will be in Initial Review for most of that, unless they request more information. I'm in the same boat you are, so you're not alone.

It has only been 1 month and the average (from others timelines) is 3 months.. It can be along journey and then comes the interview.. As another poster wrote, it usually stays in Initial Review unless asking for more evidence.. You are fine..

              Vermont Service Center

Looks like the USCIS website shows processing times for K1/K2 visas is around 5 months. You can see the information by checking their web site
USCIS and search Case Status. At bottom of page are estimates for processing times for each visa at each particular service center.

nah, mine got through in three months. But i do think it depends on the location where the embassy is.

I think we are in the same situation .. waiting for some updates!!!

My fiance filed for the visa application a month ago (JUNE) and got a mail for the case number. He made an acct under USCIS to monitor status and it's under "REVIEW"

They are expecting me to be in the US this coming October
Do you think It can happen that the process will take 3 months??

                    Re Time related

My fiance petitioned for me at the Vermont office and we got a letter 9th March. Received our reciept number and was in review for 3 months was just approved 22nd June. On the site it will state 5 months but means that they are actually ahead of shedule. Then once approved has to go to NVC. So if you got your receipt in May it wont be aproved till at least August/ September. Then you have to wait for NVC and interview. It is long and I am in Australia waiting to go home to marry my man and it is painful to say the least. Hence I went back to USA in March and just returned back to Australia 21st June and we got our approval letter the day after . We are planning our wedding 11th September so I am hoping to be back for that
