Once your petition was approved it was forwarded to the NVC (National Visa Center). The NVC generally sends your case within a few days to the embassy/consulate, after they assign a new case number to it. You can call the DOS to find out if it's been assigned a new case number and if/when it was sent to the consulate or if it's been received there.
DOS hotline: 1-202-663-1225 - Press 1 for main menu, then 0 for operator. Mon- Fri 8:30a to 5p Eastern time.
Once you have the case number, you can begin preparing your Packet 3 forms to send back to the embassy, because they will usually send out Packet 3 within a few days of logging your case in. Don't be surprised if it takes a week or two to receive it. We got ours from London, but it took a week after they said they sent it to receive it.
Hope this helps. Good luck!

If your packet 3 is taking a long time, check the embassy website and they probably have all the forms listed (and downloadable) that you will need for the interview.
My fiancee (now wife) was able to schedule her interview as soon as the embassy had a case number for her.My Fiancee arrived here on a K-1 VISA.
Conditional GreenCard has been received.
