What are the reponsibilities of a co-sponsor?

I am asking a good friend and her husband to co-sponsor with me for my fiance if i do require a co-sponsor.
What are their obligations as far as being a co-sponsor. Paperwork, etc.
What do they need to do? How long? They want to know everything that is required from them.

With your petition if you need a co sponsor on the 134 and 864 (aos)they will need to provide employment wages per year and tax returns. Not knowing what country you are from many are different and ask for different things at embassy/consulates. But USCIS for your petition will need to know these and they are all outlined when you get your information and on the forms.

THank you Barbara. Can a co-sponsor be from a different state? Do they just want to know what they earn a year? These are questions they wanted to know.
