Filling DS-160 from USA

Hi,

I am in USA and got my H-1B Visa transferred (H4-Wife's Visa) from old employer to current employer in Dec 2012 and working with new employer.
Now I am planning to visit India next month. Obviously I need to go for Stamping in INDIA as my old stamping is also out of date.

My Question is :
Can I fill and submit online DS-160 form (mine and my wife's) from USA and can take interview dates from USA itself.
Or Should I do it after reaching India?

Actually I have doubt because my old employer always wanted to submit DS-160 of mine and my wife's after reaching India.

Please suggest!!!
