Need advice

Hello,

Currently I am on L2 & working in a US company on EAD. My EAD is due for renewal in April 2013 & L2 renewal in May 2013. Now my company also applied for H1 Visa.

Now I am confused about few things.

1. Can I renew my EAD before my L2 is renewed?
2. If EAD is not renewed I cannot continue in my job for 3-4 months as L2 renewal and EAD renewal takes time. Am I correct?
3. Instead of relying on L2 & EAD, is it good to upgrade for H1 Premium Processing now?

Please give some advice.

L2 EAD is based on L2 status which is as per your I-94 and your L1 spouse's I-94. So EAD can only be given up to the latest I-94.

If H1 is filed with change of status, your status will change from the effective date. You cannot 'extend' L2 status in that case. (You will then have to leave the US and return with L2 Visa).
