F1 Visa cancelled while H1B Visa stamping?

    F1 Visa cancelled while H1B Visa stamping?

    Hi,
    I was wondering if the previous (valid) F1 visa would be cancelled when I go for a H1B stamping? And if I received a pink 221g from the visa interview, does this mean my F1 is cancelled?

    It is up to the consular officer's discretion to cancel previous Visas. Visa will be stamped as canceled and will remain valid otherwise.
    This is my opinion and not legal advice.

      Anyone have any experience with Chennai consulate regarding such a situation? I haven't received my H1B stamped yet, it's still pending.
