H1 Stamping

Hi Members,
I have my passport expity date till Feb 2015. I am planning to travel to India for H1 stmping in Jan2013. Since my passport expires in 2015 will he be giving me a visa for only 2 yrs. (start date is Jan2013) ?????I cannot renew my passport because I talked to the passport office and they said I could renew it only a year before the expiry date.
So I travel to India and get it for 2 years come here and when my passport is nearing 1 year before expiry I will Renew it. How to get the remaining 1 year of my H1 visa? Do I need to travel to India again???
