Need Help On H1B Visa

Dear All,

Would like to know that whether a person can attend Visa interview for H1 at any other consulate rather than his home or default consulate, for eg if a person is from Hyderabad and the consulate address on his petition is Hyderabad, in such case it is possible to attend at Chennai or some other consulate.

Would appreciate if someone can post their experiences around this at the earliest, if it's possible to attend so what need to be done and if not, is there any alternative that can be figured out.

Need Help On H1B Visa

If this is your first H1b stamping then you need to go to consulate mention in the petition. If its extension then you can go to other consulate. I am not sure if this is changed now but last year when I appeared for interview I cudnt go to other consulate .

Yes it's my first H1B stamping, so is it fine if i go to someother consulate rather than the consulate mentioned on my petition.
