Hello ,

I had an H1B visa approved in year 2000 for 3 years. I worked in US from 2000 to 2001 and then went back to India.
I want to come back to US on H1b visa. Do I need to wait till next April i.e. April 2013 to apply for H1B ?

Since its been more than 6 Years you would have to get a new H1. So, yes, you would have to wait till April 2013 to file new H1. Also, the new H1, if approved, can be valid only from 01 Oct 2013 or later.
