Work outside of US but work for US employer?

Can this be done? How do I look for jobs that I could work outside of the US. I have close to 7 years work experience in the US now I am traveling back how do I get a job and work from outside of the US and still work for US Employer.

I am basically trying to be a personal consultant.

It is certainly doable if you can find a US employer who is willing to employ you while you work remotely from outside US. There are challenges associated with payment of salaries, taxes (you would have to pay taxes as per the local laws of the country you are working from), duties, deliverable controls, management control etc. If you have the skills which are rare and not available for the US employer to get easily within US or from soem company abroad, it is possible.

What you do outside US is not related to immigration and USCIS is not involved with that.

Thanks. I am looking for Companies like that. Anyone has any experience deal with such cases.
