I will be maxing out on my L1 visa in february and was planning to convert over to H4 as my spouse's dependent.
Now, my spouse's visa would be expiring in april and his company is planning to file an extension for him. So my question is that if the H1 extension is filed in first week of January along with my application for H4 and we file in premium, would the approval that come in be valid only from April when i-94/visa expires or can we ask for the same start date as the day of my i-94 expiry in feb.
If the extension is valid only from April, then my understanding is i have to file another COS to cover the period between Feb-April. Is that correct?
