H4 from status to visa

Hello,

This summer I processed my status' change from F1 to H4. My H4 status approval came back very quickly. I now need to process the visa in order to be able to go out of the country and being allowed to come back.

Can someone help me with the steps? Are they the same since I already have my H4 status? Do I still need an interview at the embassy of my country? and what would be the processing time ?

You just leave the country and apply for Visa at a US consulate in your home country like any other H4 dependent. It makes no difference that you changed status while in the US.
