Can I stay in USA on the basis of ticket No from H1B filing

Hi,

Scenario is:

I am on L1B with Employer A and both L1B as well as I94 will expire on July 2013.

Now Employer B will file my H1B in April 2013 and he is saying even if my L1B visa as well I94 will get expire in July 2013 but I can stay in USA without working till 1Oct 2013 based on the ticket Number I will get after applying H1B .Please advise it is possible?

I doubt if that is possible. You dont have a visa, you dont have a valid I-94 during this duration.
