Pink Slip (221g) issue with H4

can someone please suggest if this is a good time to contact US cunsulate any how many ways we can contact them. The email id mentioned on pink slip says after 90 days...but there should have some ways to contact them before 90 days, if yes then how.

Thanks for your reply. I called the call center guys and they had given me the same standard reply.
Emailing the concerns to the email-id mentioned, i believe will also give me the same reply.

You are correct. They all will provide same status till you are good to go.

It is a little strange that the principal application visa was approved and an H4 held. But i dont see any major problem in issuing your H4 too.

This process generally takes time between 6-8 weeks, if you are lucky it can happen before as well. And nobody knows what kind of checks they do.

I too went for H1B visa stamping on 26th Nov 2012 in chennai along with my wife, and they issued pink slip to me. It took nearly 2 months in my case for the clearance to come and the visa was issued to me & my wife on 17th Jan 2013.

Have patience and you should hear good news v soon.

I dont think so you can do anything to get away with this processing crap.

There are no precautions or "to do" list that will put you away from this processing.

I have seen cases / I am sure you have seen such cases as well.

i.e. Applicants with Criminal records getting away with out Admin Processing and Applicants without any Criminal records getting stuck on this processing.
Applicants with fresh passport (never been to the US) and with full intentions to stay in America getting H1s/H4s without issues
and Applicants who have been in the US for 5-6 years on student visa and with legit work getting stuck on Admin Processes.

Off topic...does anyone know about the type of verification that will be done in India...if one applies for h4 and to avoid below situation of processing does not reveal job details..is it advisable to do so?

I agree with you. In my case, my whole family (my only elder sister, my parents and my husband) has visited USA but i received pink slip.

We are in same boat I am at US right now on H1 .. My wife appeard fro H4 on 4th Jan at Delhi Consulate ..they Kept her pespport and said we have to do some additional enqiry on your case .. still we are waiting for VISA :-(

This Admin processing is not new for us .. in Year 2011 my wife appeared at Chennai Consulate for L2 VISA and handed over Pink Slip 221G(Admin Processing) that took 45 days.. but we got VISA.

I also got 221G Admin Process slip twice in year 2008(B1) and 2010(L1) and both time my case took 3-4 months ..
so hope for the best and dont get panic ask you husband to tavel and get Settled here ....u will get your VISA soon..

I had my L1A Blanket and L2 Visa Interview on Nov 14th at Chennai Consulate

VO asked me following questions

1) Why do you want to go to US
2) Are you going to US as a ,manager
3) How long are you working with the Company

After that she asked one question to my wife

1) What is your education

After that VO told me that your visa is approved and then her computer got hanged and after few mins, she told i am approving your visa but we need to some administrative processing and it will take 2 weeks before i will receive my passport and handed me over 221G (Pink Slip) and told me go to counter 31. VO stamped all 3 copies of I-129S.

Questions at counter 31

1) About my education
2) About my previous work experience
3) Information about my siblings

After that she kept our passports and one copy of I-129S form and told me they will send my passport in 4-8 weeks.

I am waiting for 71 days

I am also in Same situation.

I called DOS(Department of State in US) today and got funny answer lady said, we are waiting for some documents from your side but we never got any mail or call anything from them.
When I mailed UStravel customer help desk few days back I got reply from them that case in under admin processing and if we need any document you will be contacted ..

I am totaly confused now.. what to do...

no clear picture no transparent tracking system .. ooppsssssssssssssssssssss
