  • Should I Return my original I-797 upon resignation as they are asking it from me?

    Hi Experts,

Need your help with my situation.

Resigned from company A after my visa transfer with company B got approved. Now, company A is asking me to return the original I-797 as part of No due clearance and for a clean exit. I have been searching online but not much has been written about the need for retaining all the previous I-797's for continued stay/visa stamping/GC process.

Can somebody help me with my situation? Should I take a notarized copy of the I-797 & return the original to company A or should I retain the original I-797? If so, when exactly will it be required for me in the future processes?

Thanks in advance for all your valuable inputs.

Yes, just keep copies with you, that will be sufficient.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.
