Hi,
I am currently on H1B and my spouse is on H4. My 6-year period on H1B is expiring in August 2013. We are in the process of green card application. We already received the Labor Certification and will file I485 and I765 in a few days. We were told that we both receive EAD cards relatively quickly. My questions are:
1. Can I leave my current employer and stop working when my EAD arrives?
2. If our 485 is approved but the green card has not arrived, can I leave my current employer and stop working? If I do this, will my wife's status be affected?
