Hi,
I am on H1B visa which started in October 2011. At that time, My OPT /Stem extension was still valid till November 2012.
If I want to go back to F1 now , and I fill I-539, can I do it based on my STEM/OPT EAD card?
I mean, is my OPT extension card still valid or it is invalidated the day H1B begins.
The reason I want to change is that if I resign or am fired, I could still utilize my OPT extension to search for job.But, I do not want to apply to a university and get I-20 and so apply for F1 based on that. I want to do it using my OPT extension, if its still valid.
Thanks for the help. This is very urgent to decide whether I should resign or not.
