Does applying for H1B or Student Visa cancel/affect existing B1 Visa status?

I have a 10 year multiple entry B2 US Visa valid till 2021. If I apply for H1B Visa or Student Visa, does it affect my current Visitor Visa in anyway i.e. will my existing Visa be revoked or cancelled if I apply for Visa in any other category?

Generally it will not be affected. But it is possible that when you apply for the Visa at the consulate, that they will cancel this one.
