I have a question about filing federal and state taxes for myself (on H1B) and for my wife (on H4 however she is not in the US at the moment).

As my wife is still in the UK, she doesn't have a SSN or ITIN number.

Do I file my tax returns to include my wife (i.e. jointly) or as a single person in the US?
