How to know if cos is approved with or without I 94

Is there any way to find out if my H1b is approved with or without I 94 even before i get the documents by mail ?
The problem is My H1 with cos is approved yesterday but not sure if its approved with I 94.
I would like to apply for a fresh h1 petition with a different employer if my cos is approved without I 94 as it happened to me previously.
So trying to find out if there is any way i could get details from uscis by calling them .

Look at the bottom of your approved I797, if it has a I-94 then the COS was approved with an I-94 otherwise the petition was approved with consular processing.

The wording of the approval notice will also state that change or extension of status has been approved or denied. But there is no way to know without having that in hand. If online status has changed to approved, your employer should receive the notice in a week or so. Can't the second employer wait that much?
