H1b status and re-entry on old valid petition and visa for the same employer

Hello Officer,

I hold a valid H1b petition and visa from my employer in US.
However, I resigned and returned to my home country for last 7 months.

Now, my employer in US is hiring back. Can I re-enter USA based on new offer letter from same employer on valid approved old H1b petition and visa?
I will not have any pay-stub of past 7 months. Will this create any problem during while re-entry at POE?

To be on safer side, how do I confirm if my old petition is not withdrawn and still holds good to re-enter?

Any inputs will help me take right decision.
