I was lucky enough to get through the April 2013 lottery and received this via the company lawyer:
The {service center redacted} has approved the following
I-129 Petition for Nonimmigrant Worker
that had been filed under the Premium Processing Program:
But now is the long wait between April and October when I actually start. In the mean time, I'm wondering what would happen if the company I am going to went bust, got acquired or some other circumstance that meant my role no longer existed?
Would it be safer to travel to my (european country) U.S. consulate and get my actual H1B stamped? Or am I now cap exempt regardless?
In the worst case, I would like to apply for other jobs in the U.S. but I don't know whether I would be counted as cap exempt until I actually get my H1B rather than just have this notice of I-129?
