H-1B application selected this year - is it too late for another employer to apply?

My wife's H-1B application was selected in the lottery this year, she has received the I-797C notice with the case number. While this application is being processed, is it too late now for another employer to apply for H-1B for her this year?

Another employer can file a cap-exempt petition for her. But it is better to wait for an approval on the first one.
