Question on H4/H1

Hi ,

Am Kumar, have a question regarding the h4/h1, my wife is going to be h1 from oct'2005, she is currently on H4.

My H1 is completing in May'2006, am going to apply for xtension as my GC is under progress, am thinking of applying H4 for my wife while applying for xtension to be on the safe side incase my wife doesn't find the job by May'06.

My question is regarding wife's H1, what will happen to it when I apply for H4, does the H1 status be lost then?

Can any one advise pls?

Your wife can either be on H1 or H4. Can't be on both at the same time.

Can I apply for H4 xtension for my wife? I don't worry about her H1 but I wanted to clarify if I can apply H4 at all or not?

Hi,
Like I said earlier, if you apply for her H4, her H1 will be lost. She can either be on H1 or H4, whichever is later in time will prevail over the former.
