no update on status till 14th Aug
Visa Issued on 14th Aug, It took 100 full days (J1/J2)

Many thanks for what you are doing. Great work and good stuff. In your 1st Aug cases list, there was one from 8th May being cleared. My H1B interview was on
6th May 2013 and my batch id is 2013123 and hence 8th may will be 2013125 xxx x. But I don't see that batch id in the PDF report from the consulate.



I would like to know where do you get your results from? If the pdf is not updated or accurate is there a way to find out apart from the US visa status page?.
Thank you for your help. I just need this info to clarify my doubts and nothing more.

PS: In case your visa is approved how will they let you know? Is there anyone who has experienced bitter sweet side of 221g? It's been 90 days and the pdf file doesn't give an ounce of confidence.

221g pink slip - passports taken ( Waiting for 100 days now)

My analysis is not just for cases with missing docs. It includes all the 221(g) cases handed over since 2012 Jan. I was also given 221(g) and was not asked to submit any documents so far. My status date also hasn't updated even once. Typically these are name check cases and there is no clear trend of timelines.

However, 3 months wait is what people advise on various forums. Hope you get your Visa issued soon.

Hi Snbtcca and everyone who are affected with 221g

I have been in USA for quite a while now and came down to India for stamping.
Appeared for interview with spouse on 22nd April and was handed over a pink slip and the passports were retained by the visa officer.

It has been 100 days now since our passports were taken and we are stuck here with our House and everything back in the US.
There has been no update since then.

I wish to pull out my passport as I have to apply for another visa.

Can you please advice if I can go ahead and Pull out my Passport from VFS.
Will my 221g admin check process stop if I pull out my Passport , Kindly advice as i am confused and not able to decide on this.

Seems like your analysis is about 221G cases for additional reqd documents or missing docs.
But i have different situation here I am hoping you would provide some suggestions\hints on my case also from New delhi embassy.

and this is my situation:---
I appeared for H1b re stamping with my wife(H4) in new delhi on 30th May..i am still working for original petitioner..so thought it will be a simple one...but got 221G case
I was not given any slip--green\pink etc.....they just gave one white paper which had my case number...there were some list of documents to be submitted..but they crossed it and said
they dont need any additional documents,they kept passports with them and officer even told that everything looks good with my case...but still put my case for "administrative processing".
When i asked for reason--they said--" they need to do some additional verification\processing for people with certain common surnames like SINGH or KAUR""

Now it is been more than 60 days since i am waiting...my status date is not even updated once..

Do you have any insight or analysis on these kind of cases also??

Btw, saratdev, how did they ask for more documents.
Did they send u a email..contacted your employer or any other mode?

after the interview, I was asked to submit one document from my employer. which I dropped of at the VFS oon 5th june. the status updated on 6th june. I received an email to submit some more docs on June 8th and I submitted those on 11th june via email. I don't know if they have contacted my employer and how they have contacted them.

Looks like my case has missed the Processing lot , I attendedvisa interview on May 21st, Submitted docs on 5th JUne. then They requested for more documentson 8th june. submitted those on 11th June. No update on CEAC since 6th June. looking at all others it looks like i have so many more days to go

zJust wanted to give an update on my side. I got my visa on 25th July. waiting for the passport.

Visa interview date: 05/21/2013
Docs Submitted:06/05/2013
First Status update : 6th june 2013
second status update 24th july 2013
issued 25th july.

Here are my 2 cents, I think if you submit the docs they ask for it takes 7 weeks for them to process from the day you submit your docs(in most cases). I have been observing this forum for the approx processing times from other members and a few of my friends who were in this situation. I hope people in this situation, hear something positive very soon.
