H1B start date is Oct 1, work start date is Sept 23 - OPT needed?

Hi everyone,

I was approved for an H1-B visa that allows me to start working on October 1. Currently, I am on a student F1 visa. I was just informed that my non-negotiable start date is Sept 23. Do I need to apply for an OPT/H1-B visa for that one week of employment? Or can I just start on my H1-B.

You will need OPT to work during Sep 23 to Sep 30.
