Hi,
I got my H1b Visa in Oct 2006 and was valid until Sept 30 2012. I worked for multiple employers in the past 6 years. One of the employer A filed for my Greencard. I had to leave the employer as my project was completed. But the employer A was kind enough to continue my GC application and in Year 2011 I had I140 approved.
In June 2012 I resigned and returned to India as to take care of some house issue (I still had 4 months left to complete 6 years). I just called my old company A to ask if my
I 140 is still active and they mentioned that they did not revoke it and it is still active.
My questions are
1) Do I have to file for a New H1b visa if I have to go to USA and will I still fall under H1 quota?
2) If I apply through the company through which I have I 140 approved will I fall under quota?
3) what is the use of the approved I140?
