Will they ask for bank statement in chennai consulate for H1B visa.In case we dont have what should be our answer.

Are you going for your first H1B stamping ever? Or is it a stamping for revalidation/extension? And are you talking about Bank balance in India or US?

They might only want to verify the credit of your present salary in the account. Usually they do not ask for the bank statement in India for any other reason.
