H1 Petition Validity

I need clarification on below question.
My H1 was approved on 16th July and my current H4 extension application is with USCIS now (My H4 expiry is 30th July,2013). If I get H4 extension approval after 1st October. Will my previously H1 petition be invalidated or do I need to convert back from H4 to H1 COS.

Yes, the H1 COS will be invalidated. Consult an experienced immigration attorney on how to proceed.
