Hello everyone, I need a little guidance on a sensitive topic. I am a UNVA (university of northern virginia) student. I am on OPT, never worked. Now since the university is shutting down I am thinking of getting an H4 visa. I took professional advice from a lawyer who suggested that I should go to India and get my H4 stamping sone as that would get me rid of the UNVA name forever (last port of entry counts). Also he says getting an H4 done while in USA could be risky because of the UNVA name. Also I am a medical student, applied for residencies but the decision of whether to slect me or not will be made by April 2014, so I cannot and should not stay out of status till then. So need some suggestions here, whether i should go to India and get my H4 or shall i apply it staying in USA. Please guide.
