Administrative Processing (221g) during Green Card Processing
Hi,
I've been on 2 different visas in last 4 years. 1st was L1B which I got in 2009 and during stamping I was given 221g status for administrative processing which took 4 weeks for clearance. Recently I switched to H1B in 2013 and again during the stamping I was put under 221g status and this time it took 6 months for clearance. The 2nd instance was a painful wait as I was already settled in US for 3 years prior to that.
My employer is willing to start green card process for me very soon. During the course of green card processing, I would be getting my H1 renewed in order to be able to visit my home country (India).
I'd like to know from people's experience here whether I'm subject to going through 221g again even if
1. My GC is in processing
2. I've been through 221g already twice and once on the same visa category I'm renewing
If yes, are there any possible ways to avoid 221g or minimize the duration it takes?
