Need to change visa status from L2 to H4 (For Kid):

Hi All,

Background:
- I am currently on L1 B and my wife is on H1 visa. And our son is on L2.
- I need to leave country for a while as my visa expires in 1st week of Dec, 2013.
- If situation arises, my wife & son may continue to stay in USA for a while. And hence the need to convert my son's visa from L2 to H4.

Q's I have in mind:
- How long it takes to get H4 done while being in USA, both normal route & premium process.
- And how much would it cost in both routes?
- What if, we have applied for H4 visa for my son & my visa is expiring? Can my son continue to stay?

You inputs would be appreciated.

- Typically 2-4 Months. There is no premium processing for dependent visas.
- I guess $325. Check USCIS website for latest.
- Yes. You can e-file too online.
