Appointment in Different Consulate

Hi,

I have got an appointment in New Delhi consulate for my H1b. I am based in South India and my passport also has been issued there.

I believe we should only take appointments in the consulate pertaining to the area where the passport is issued.

Can someone tell me whether they have faced such issues.

Hi Sherkhan,
The choice of consulate is dependant on the place of your normal residence in India. If you reside in the southern states, then go to Chennai, etc. The TTS website and the consular websites mention these things clearly.

You can go to Delhi. Since chennai is a busy Consulate , delhi provided service to all the south indian states.
My PP was issued from Hyd. I took my interview in delhi. So no issues and go ahead.

Hi Sherkhan,

It is better you attend for Visa in Chennai.
As there are lots of chance that you my be refused based on 221(g) rules.
