Hi Experts,
I am on H1-B in USA. My petition is valid till Sep 2014. But my passport is valid till Jan 2014 therefore when I came I got date on I-94 at Jan 2014. My wife's passport is valid for few more years but because of me she got I94 same as mine. 2 months back, my current company was taken over by another company. So I-797 which I have is from old company but technically that company is no more. There is lot of confusion. My (new) companies immigration says they can give letter explaining the same and when I called BLI India (Passport renewal) they said, they need I797 of new company.
My questions
1) What if my passport is renewal is in progress by the time it is over Jan 2014 then I had to leave country?
2) Can I apply for I-94 extension for my wife? as her passport and my petition is valid
3) Is 2 months is enough time to get passport extended? adn I-94 extended?
Any help will be appreciated.
