Hi,
My wife has been on a h4 for 2012 and applied for H1B on April 2013 got approved for a H1B on Aug 26th 2013. It has the detachable I94
However the issue started when we tried to apply for ssn on Oct 17th post shutdown. The system was not updated with her current status H1B instead was showing H4. The social security office however went ahead and filed for her SSN saying they will get the status updated.
Its been 3 weeks since then, we didnt get any response and the i94 validity check website https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html still has her status listed as H4.
Any info regarding this would be helpful
