I am applying for an H1B extension and I am getting my passport stamped at a Consulate in my home country. I'm currently married to a US citizen and she lives in the US. How will this affect things? Will it influence the visa officer to think I won't return to my home country and not give me the visa?

H1 visa is a dual intent visa. Therefore, you don't have to prove you will return back to the home country.
