Can H4 travel before H1?

Wanted to know if its possible for a H4 to travel before the H1 does, my wife has an H1 and both my child and I are on H4, wanted to know if I travel first would I be breaking any laws?

Any pointers would help.

I wouldn't suggest a travel before H1 if its the first trip. You are on H4 in US only if your spouse is maintaining H1 status in US.

I've traveled twice before on B1 and this would be the first time on H4, have a sibling who is a US citizen whose house I would stay, just want to know if I would be breaking any law if I do travel alone before the H1 travels.
