H1/H4 Visa Help

Hi,
I'm in US in H1 visa since last one year. Recently I transfered my H1 to another company and got the I-797(approval notice) from the new company.
My I-94 from the previous company is valid till Aug 2007 but in my new approval notice the visa is extented upto Aug 2008. I'm planning to go india to process my wife's H4 visa. I want to restamp my visa with name of new company along with my wife's H4. I doubt can I do that as my current stamping is valid till 2007. If yes. Will they ask for my wife's name in my passport as my wife's name is not there in my passport because my passport was produced before my marriage. For your information my wife's passport containg my name as Husband and we have all other valid document of our marriage. Please advice me in this regard.

Hi,
You will be considered as totally law-abiding if you get your passport stamped with the new co. H1B. Endorsement of the spouse's nmae in the passport is not mandatory. Even otherwise, it is only a question of 3 to 4 days max. to get it done at the pasport office back home. Just take all proof of marriage like photos, certificate and invite(if available).
