H1 Visa application though Passport getting expired on June 2014

Hi,

I am applying H1B this apr' 2014. But my passport is getting expired on June 2014. I am currently overseas and can come to India by May 2014 for renewing my passport. Will my employer accept my case. Will I have to renew my passport and then apply for H1. Please advice.

If i am correct, Passport can be re-issued from USA as well.
