You mean she came on B1/B2, and overstayed. Did she stay beyond her I94, if yes, for 8 Months? Did you not apply for extension of B2 stay while she was here ?

If one overstays for 180 days or beyond I94 expiry without applying for extension before I94 expiry and then leaves the country, one cannot return to the U.S. for 3 years. And it becomes nearly impossible to get a renewed visa after this misuse.

She might have overstayed her visa, but if she didnt overstay her I-94 it might still be fine.
