H1 B extension/GC filing

Hi

I work for company A while company B is filing for my GC labor . I plan to join company B once labor comes through. I understand that is legal.
Is it ok for company A to file for my H1 B extension during this time?

Yes, Company A can do that.

If you join the new employer, You cannot port your Priority Date as it will get activate only when your I 40 approved.

This is my opinion.
