    hii
i am little confused..someone pls clarify me.
I am here in US on H1..and my wife and kids are back in India and we are going to book appointment for h4 stamping for them.
Now as per the VFS website, its asking Original I-797 and I-129 forms need to be carried for visa intv.
    https://www.immihelp.com/h1-visa-stamping-documents/
But as per chennai consulate website, just photo copy will do.

Pls clarify me whether my wife needs to carry my original forms or just copy will do..??
Bcoz all originals are with me now.
    regards.

    H4 confusion

I am not an expert but this is what I think you should do.

If you have time, send an email to both consulates. I got replies from Mumbai consulate within couple of days everytime.

If you don't have time, follow the instructions of the consulate your wife is applying the visa from. I say so because I had experienced such when I had gone to Mumbai consulate for H1 visa stamping recently. All my documents were in a back pack that I carried with me to the consulate. However, unlike other consulates, Mumbai consulate's website says that all documents should be brought in a plastic bag. They did not allow me to enter. Luckily, nearby was a lady with whom I could deposit unallowed items (my back pack) for her gouging fee of Rs.50, and luckily I had carried a plastic bag with me. I transferred everything over in the plastic bag and deposited back pack with her.
