H1b transfer in progress and applying new H4 visa

Hi,

Pretty new to this forum. My H1B transfer to new employer in progress and i ll get the receipt notice later this week. My wife and kid are in India now. Planning to apply for H4 visa to them. Question is, is it possible to apply new H4 visa with the receipt notice from new employer.

Hello, Gnanavel.

I am not certain, but if your current status (H1B) is valid then nothing stops you from applying for a H4. Yes, one difference i see is, once your H1B is transferred - if it extends the USA stay, your family may also get a stay on their H4 depending on your new H1.
