H1 transfer is in progress: Can I travel outside US? Can my dependents apply for H4?

Now I am transferring from Company A to Company B. I received receipt with tracking number from USCIS. I am legally working now for Company B. So, the questions are:

1. Can I travel now outside US during H1 transfer?
2. Can my wife apply for H4 now?

Hi,
It is better that you travel after the approval receipt comes to your hand. The consulates in India will generally suggest that you get the transferred Co.'s H1B/H4 stamped on your passport.
