my wife attended H4 visa interview in Chennai on aug 31st 2205 and the consulate officer asked her to submit my 2004 IRS tax transcripts directly from IRS to the Consulate and asked her to bring letter from my previous employer. I have requested the IRS to send transcripts and they have sent them on 19th september. i Have sent the letter from previous employer to my wife. Whenever i call the consulate they say they have not received the transcripts and the case is pending. How long usually it takes to get the visa under these circumstances. My wife does not need a appointment to go to the consulate can she go and show the COnsulate the Tax transcript i sent her?. I converted to H1 on october first 2004. and prior to Oct 1st i am on F1 and worked on my CPT. while i was on F1 my employer payed me on 1099 basis. Even though i converted to H1 on oct 1st 2004 my whole 2004 earnings is more than 40K.
