Travelling out of US on unexpired Visa wen extension is in process

Hi,

My current H1 visa and i-94 is valid till 30 sept and my extension is in review with USCIS. I am planning to go Mexico for 4 days in next month. I am not able to find information on this case and how it affects my extension process.

1. If by any chance my extension is approved during my stay in mexico, what issues can I face at port of entry ?
2. Does it voids my extension process ?

Any help will be much appreciated
